Be Bold. Be Strong. Be Empowered: Guidance from Attorneys and Aging Professionals

The theme of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day on June 15th is “Be Bold, Age with Attitude.” We discussed real-life examples of individuals struggling with challenges and then moved forward with constructive advice from attorneys and aging professionals. We provided guidance and resources, educated on how to recognize abuse, and raise awareness on the importance of engagement within your community. Our hope is for seniors to become more skillful in making observations and using your voice to stand up and advocate for yourself and others around you.

Representatives from the following Westchester-based organizations who participated:

Challenges for Solo Agers and How to Resolve Them

This webinar covers the Estate Planning challenges of the solo ager, which are in important ways different from those facing people with spouses, children, or other close family members. What kinds of decisions and actions will need to be taken, and who will deal with them if the solo ager is unable to do so himself or herself? In this session, we consider what might be done by the solo ager in advance to protect against the consequences of physical or mental incapacity.

This is the third in our Estate Planning for Life Situations Webinar Series
